ABOUT CTCLAG

The purpose of CTCLAG is to advise ICCBBA of the needs of cellular therapy organizations for coding and labeling. The Group comprises representatives from major cellular therapy professional organizations: AABB, APBMT, ASTCT, ASFA, EBMT, FACT, ISBT, ISCT, JACIE, NMDP and WMDA. Additionally, the group has invited technical experts to serve as voting members on the group.

Liaisons from other organizations, primarily representing regulatory bodies, also attend meetings.

Vendors and other interested parties attend meetings as observers at the discretion of the chairperson.

The Cellular Therapy Coding and Labeling Advisory Group (CTCLAG) was established in 2004.

CTCLAG met face-to-face on October 18, 2024, in Houston, Texas. This was the group’s first in-person meeting since June 2015. The group continues to schedule monthly conference calls.
The committee is discussing multiple topics, including nomenclature for extracellular vesicles, implementation perspectives on the ISBT 128 Standard Chain of Identity Identifier (ST-028), and updating the United States Consensus Guidance for the Uniform Labeling of Cellular Therapy Products Using ISBT 128 (IG-003).

CTCLAG’s 20th Anniversary is this year, and held a face-to-face meeting in New Orleans in May.
